Social Media Manager

A Social Media Manager is continuously generating content for the company, creating new ideas and campaigns, and measuring how effective those ideas are. They work with other creatives in the company, like marketing, public relations, legal, etc. to coordinate their campaigns with other initiatives within a company work to fit in to the overall marketing and promotional goals of the organization. A good social media manager always looks for the latest trends online, making sure that they are keeping up with public shifts in media attention.
:Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
:Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
:Set specific objectives and report on ROI
:Generate, edit, plan publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
:Engaging with followers, commenting on tagged posts
:Working with marketing manager to plan out social media schedule months out, to ensure we are promoting current new products, launches etc.
:Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
:Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency
:Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
:Oversee social media accounts design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
:Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
:Stay up:to:date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
:Organize and maintain relationships with influencers
:Plan content creation with influencers
Salary range commensurate with experience
Salary Range 35,000 to 50,000
Job skills and requirements
:Writing: Social media managers will need to know how to write effective copy in a lot of different styles, for websites, twitter, Facebook, etc.
:Knowledge of writing for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is needed.
:Research: needs to know what is happening in the fast changing world of social and digital media, what competitors are doing and what new measurement tools are being use.
:Problem:Solving: Social media managers figure out how to best communicate a companys message on different platforms, and sometimes might need to convey sensitive issues or deal with angry customers.
:Organization: There are many different platforms, and new ones are being developed all the time. How you communicate on each, determining audience, and measuring tactics all take organization.
:Interpersonal Skills: Even through writing, social media managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Being friendly and approachable online will help.
:Technical Skills: Social media managers work almost exclusively through computers. Understanding computers, SEO, internet access and being tech savvy is necessary.
