Operations Analyst I

This is a varied and highly responsible position involving technical and administrative work supporting the Program Office within the Southeast Region Office of Economic Self:Sufficiency. Work will include analyzing, developing and assisting in the implementation of improved policies, practices, methods, procedures and organizational structures.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Identifying system and organizational difficulties hindering the accomplishment of objectives and outlining procedures to be followed in conducting studies or collecting data.

Assisting line supervisors in the implementation of new procedures and management techniques in the information technology area.

Using mainframe computer systems or software applications to access, create, edit, print, send, retrieve or manipulate data, files or other information.

Collaborating with others or works on teams to accomplish work:related activities and to determine appropriate action or recommend improvements or solutions to problems.

Providing training to other staff.

Planning, guiding and coaching staff as required.

Completing forms, documents or routine reports, and composes simple correspondence or other written work such as memoranda and form letters.

Typing materials and transfers information from one document or record to another.

Performing other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
:Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
:Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
:Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
:Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
:Ability to conduct fact:finding research.
:Ability to utilize problem:solving techniques.
:Ability to work independently.
:Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.
:Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
:Ability to communicate effectively.
