A multi-billion dollar publicly traded company is seeking a strong Vice President of Payroll to join its corporate accounting team. The VP Payroll will report to the CFO and will be responsible for oversight of payroll services to multiple locations and support functions with a focus on driving best practices and process improvements within all areas of payroll. Responsibilities: The VP Payroll will be responsible for the following: A cents € cents Direct all day-to-day payroll processing and reporting in accordance with all federal, state and local tax laws, and corporate policies and procedures A cents € cents Ensure payroll tax reporting and remittance are timely and in compliance with applicable tax laws and all payroll accounts are reconciled timely and accurately A cents € cents Evaluate and document business procedures related to payroll processes and ensure payroll employees are properly trained A cents € cents Develop and implement payroll department structure and processes to increase the efficiency of the department while establishing/maintaining an effective internal control structure, with self-audit procedures that will ensure the consistent application of payroll policies A cents € cents Develop a highly skilled and well-trained staff (provide appropriate training, coaching and career opportunities) to ensure the efficient and effective support to the business A cents € cents Responsible for understanding incentive and benefit plans, as well as relevant Human Resource payroll-related policies in order to ensure that payments and expenses are accurate and appropriate Qualifications: The VP Payroll will possess the following qualifications at a minimum: A cents € cents Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business discipline preferred A cents € cents At least 10 years of experience in payroll and at least 5 years of payroll management experience A cents € cents Excellent communication and facilitation skills - capable of executing through others (influence vs. control) A cents € cents Resilient in a fast-paced, changing environment A cents € cents Demonstrated change/project management skills - can effectively lead projects by establishing priorities, building and executing project plans, and delivering on commitments A cents € cents Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and use technology to improve the efficiency of the team Get the latest industry news affecting accounting, finance and information technology professionals every week.
