JOB SUMMARY: This position is in General Tax Administration, Coral Springs Service Center, Criminal Investigations Process. This position primarily conducts intricate tax fraud investigations of revenue law violations where evidence is normally hidden in complex organizational structures, multiple ownership, multiple corporations and multiple locations, and provides investigative assistance to our internal and external partners. Our non:sworn investigators handle cases from start to finish and must be able to: successfully interview potential subjects/witnesses; research systems to determine tax registration, reporting and remissions; research public records; identify, gather, secure, organize, analyze and present voluminous records/evidence; clearly prepare detailed case reports that cover scope and results of investigation, probable cause affidavits, subpoena requests and search warrants; communicates well and testify at hearings/trials; work with our internal and external partners to progress/monitor cases through the investigation, prosecution, judicial and post disposition sentence compliance phases; proficiently use Microsoft Word and Excel; participates in training; and handles required operational and administrative tasks.

Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue;
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years, within the last three years, experience conducting criminal tax investigations within the General Tax Administration Program;
Experience navigating SunTax along with the ability to accurately determine a taxpayers filing, remittance and delinquency status;
Experience using personal computers and Microsoft Word, Excel and the other office applications.
Experience in conducting criminal tax investigations in the General Tax Administration Program may substitute for required education on a year for year basis.
Preference will be given to those who have experience in researching, reviewing and analyzing data;
Preference will be given to those who have experience testifying in a Judicial proceeding.
