Job Description Orangetheory Fitness is a trendsetting global franchise fitness organization with several hundred locations open in the United States, Canada and UK and with more than 400 new fitness studios under development across the nation and internationally. SUMMARY The Payroll & Benefits Manager (PBM) is an integral part of our Payroll Department working closely with our Payroll Director along with our HR Team as needed and is responsible for creating and distributing information about payroll, benefits and other employee-related programs for our Company. The PBM will work with the Director of Payroll in processing our bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for our employees within Florida, New York and California and must have a good knowledge of state payroll law. The PBM will work with our HR Department in handling benefit management, processing benefit requests against program requirements, processing Cobra notices, assisting with 401(k) set up, commuter benefit plans and other related programs offered to our employees. They will be the first point of contact for all inquiries related to payroll and benefits and must have a good understanding of both payroll process and benefit administration and invoice reconciliation. The PBM will attend company meetings, run payroll and benefits reports, keep accurate records for auditing purposes and communicate to our internal and remote staff any updates or concerns regarding payroll processing and benefit administration. and needs to have a good working knowledge of both payroll processing and benefit administration and must have excellent verbal and written skills to be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Must be proficient in using a full-line payroll processing system such as UltiPro, Paychex, ADP ? Responsible for processing our bi-weekly payroll, audits hourly timesheets with management and preparing regular payroll reports for accuracy ? Able to calculate overtime pay based on employee qualifications and other company policies as well as reconcile payroll statements ? Maintains knowledge of rules and laws which govern the payroll administration practices ? Able to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of staff and management ? Must maintain confidentiality of information and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive topics ? Researches, analyze and resolves payroll-related issues or questions ? Work with payroll service provider and State agencies to reconcile tax inquiries and discrepancies ? Ensures that payroll related transactions are processed in compliance with external and internal company polices ? Maintain confidential payroll records and employee personnel files inside our HRMS ? Serves as a liaison between our Carriers and staff and communicates effectively ? Tracks salary adjustments, reimbursement claims and job history for our employees ? Manages employee benefits and eligibility and reconciles monthly carrier invoices ? Investigates and processes Unemployment Claims, Workers Comp Claims, handles employment verification tasks, facilitates termination process and other human resources related tasks as needed ? Administers the setup, billing, enrollment, and COBRA of participants of for various benefit plans ? Sets up and reconciles voluntary payroll deductions, prepares reports, identifies and researches exceptions and remits payment to vendors ? Able to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing work in a timely and effective manner even when working in an environment with frequent interruptions ? Able to follow written and verbal direction, and take the initiative when necessary. ? Ability to effectively communicate on complex issues with high level of effectiveness ? Manage the processing of employee payroll and distribution of paychecks ? Work with Human Resources on employee education about our company benefits and enrollment in programs ? Conduct audits of tax forms, payroll balance sheets and company benefit plans ? Maintain and update our payroll database system ? Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field is required ? 4+ years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration ? Experience working with UltiPro preferred ? Experience working in a managerial capacity in necessary ? Must have strong advanced Excel skills ? Strong communication skills both written and verbal ? Leadership and industry certifications preferred ? Experience working within a franchise company a plus ? WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. It should be understood that any unprofessional behavior in the corporate office, by this position or any other corporate positions, will be dealt with per the employee manual. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. We use Heart Rate Based Interval Training, which burns more calories post workout than a traditional exercise. When wearing our Heart Rate monitors, your real time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual Heart Rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our fitness coaches to lead the workout to prevent you from over or under training.
