Job Description The Payroll Administrator independently processes bi-weekly payroll for several employee groups including unionized employees. This individual will serve as a go-to resource for managers reviewing and approving employee timesheets, and for employees with payroll related questions or concerns. In addition, the Payroll Administrator is an integral part of the HR/Payroll team, and participates in strategic and operational improvements to improve the workplace and the business. Responsibilities Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports. Process employee payroll changes such as retros, bonus payments, tax withholding changes, etc. Process final pay for terminating employees, including calculation and payout of unused vacation time, and ensuring accurate and adequate documentation. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance Provide financial and operational reporting as needed Maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage, hour and tax laws, as well as of the provisions in the applicable collective bargaining agreements. Troubleshoot and resolve all payroll related issues. File all relevant documents in employee’s payroll file. Additional duties as assigned under management’s discretion Requirements 2-4 years experience in job duties is required, experience processing payroll in ADP Enterprise and E-Time strongly preferred. Knowledgeable of federal and state regulations. Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail. Ability to deal with and maintain the integrity of highly sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis.
