Job Description Retail Property Group is a leader in the acquisition, management and leasing of shopping centers in Florida – we are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Property Accountant to join our team. This position is located at Retail Property Group’s Corporate office in Boca Raton, FL. Assistant Property Accountant Job Description · Responsible for the Accounts Payable function which includes maintaining the vendor database; processing vendor invoices for payment; generating checks; resolving invoice discrepancies. · Maintain the Tenant Account Receivables. Process cash receipts in the accounting system and prepare Tenant Aging reports for Management on a monthly basis. Transition new Tenants and remove expired Tenants to/from Property Management system. · Ensure all monthly rent payments are received by Tenant and communicate past due balances and rent adjustments to Tenants as required. Generate monthly rent rolls; prepare individual Tenant Ledgers as requested by Management and Legal Department. · Prepare Annual Operating Expense Reconciliations and send reports to Tenants. Interpret Tenant Leases for specific terms required for Operating Expense Reconciliation reporting. Be able to independently work with Tenants to resolve disputed Insurance, Real Estate Taxes and Common Area Expense items. · Assist management in recording monthly journal entries and reconciling sub ledgers to the general ledger and analyze variances. · Assist in preparing the Annual Operating Expense budget for all operating entities. · Prepare financial reports as requested by Management using Excel as requested by Management. · Prepare Monthly Sales Tax Returns. Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. Minimum 2 year Associates Degree required. · Minimum 5 years accounting experience with at least 2 years Real Estate Accounting Experience · Minimum of 2 years with Timberline Accounting software. · Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and be proficient in Excel. · Must be able to work independently · Able to multi task in fast pace office. · Critical thinking skills · Detail Oriented.
