SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The Accountant will be responsible for recording journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of information through monthly analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts analysis and variance research for the related income statement accounts Will identify and resolve the accounting and control issues related to business and process changes In addition the Accountant will provide all levels of management with useful and accurate financial information on a timely basis via verbal communication or documentation and be responsible for the accounting processes and controls of the company ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following Other duties may be assigned Reconciles bank accounts and ensures that all cash activity has been properly recorded Analyzes GL accounts and ensures the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger Reconciles fixed asset sub ledger and assists with physical count of fixed assets Exercises judgment in applying GAAP Interfaces with billing accounts receivable and accounts payable personnel to ensure that transactions are properly recorded Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements and other reports for senior management Interfaces with external auditors and supports the annual audit Assists with setting up new companies in accounting system and reconciling intercompany accounts Understands separation of duties and internal controls QUALIFICATIONS Possesses advanced analytical skills Solid understanding of general ledger account reconciliations Good organizational skills with attention to detail Exercises judgment in applying GAAP and supporting internal controls Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree from four year College or University preferably in Finance or Accounting and two to four years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience COMPUTER SKILLS Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting system and Management Reporter report writer or similar ERP system Intermediate proficiency in Excel This job specification should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position Incumbents will follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as may be required by their supervisor
